There are so many cliches and slogans in the game of baseball that someone new to the sport, either as a fan or a coach, can often be overwhelmed and confused at what they hear. I’ve written before that baseball coaches, instructors, and speakers often make the mistake of assuming their audience is on their same level and knows exactly what they are talking about. Not always the case.
An example of this comes in the form of a question from a reader. The reader (a new youth coach) frequently hears other coaches say “palm up when you hit” to their players and doesn’t understand what that means.
Today’s video explains what the “palm up” concept is and why it is important for batters.
